Thank you, Somerville, for choosing me to be one of your City Councilors At-Large!

Hi, I’m Ben Wheeler, a technology educator raising my two kids in Somerville, and I’m running for City Council! My career has been about solving problems, improving systems, and increasing access and opportunity. I’d love to hear from you, and I want to let you to know what I stand for:

Affordable homes near transit, because our neighbors shouldn’t be priced out, and keeping Somerville affordable strengthens our whole community.

Expanding free pre-K and childcare, because as a working parent I know how crucial daytime support is—and when our kids have a strong start, we all benefit.

Safer streets, because after my daughter was hit by a car, I saw firsthand how basic protections like stop signs and raised crosswalks can be life-savers.

And responsive government, because when people reach out to City Hall with a willingness to get involved, they deserve a truly collaborative response—never a cold shoulder.

I'm here to listen, learn, and act. Let's do this together!
